Purpose of the Company
How our products will help the planet
100% Biodegradable
Bagasse is 100 percent biodegradable under commercial composting conditions and will break down within 30-90 days. While many paper-based products can be composted too, the advantage of bagasse is that growing it does not have the same environmental impact as paper, which comes from trees.
0% Plastic
Bagasse, also known as sugarcane pulp, is a fibrous material left behind in the sugarcane-harvesting process. Among many other uses, it is a sustainable alternative to conventional plastic packaging. We strictly follow the zero plastic policy, and our products do not even carry the plastic lining often found on food packaging.
Raw Material
Since bagasse is a byproduct of the sugarcane industry, reusing it in the paper-making process reduces the amount of waste produced by sugar mills. Being able to reuse this material to create paper products versus harvesting new materials for paper pulp also reduces deforestation, rendering the paper-making process more eco-friendly.
Easier Bleaching
Bagasse is easier to bleach than the normal wood fibers typically used in the paper-making process. Therefore, it requires less chlorine to achieve the bright white colour. After the cooking process, bagasse turns into black pulp. The pulp then goes through washing process three times to change its color. The process for making wood pulp white for paper creation is more complex and uses more chemicals, making it have a larger negative environmental impact.
